About
What is Citrus Send, and what happens to your files?
What is Citrus Send?
Citrus Send lets you send files, get documents signed, and share a live note that updates as people type.
You can send files as a share link that anyone with the link can open, or send them directly to a recipient's inbox by email. You can also send documents for signing and keep a record of the signing process, or start a live note — a page at one address that updates for everyone looking at it.
You do not need an account to send files with a share link. An account adds email delivery, larger uploads, links that never expire, and a history where you can manage and revoke your shares.
A live note is a shared page holding text and files. Share its link so anyone with it can read or write, or invite people by name so each gets their own way in. It expires like everything else here, but the clock restarts whenever somebody edits it, so a note in use does not lapse. Creating one needs an account; reading one does not.
What happens to my files?
You choose how long a share stays available. When a share expires, the files are deleted rather than simply hidden, and they cannot be recovered.
A one-time link stops working shortly after its first download.
We do not read, scan or index the files you upload.
How do signatures work?
Signing with Citrus Send produces an electronic signature under the Electronic Commerce Act 2006.
Each signature is kept with a record of who was invited, when they opened the signing request, when they signed, and that they agreed to sign electronically. This information is bound into the signed copy as a certificate page and sealed so that later alteration can be detected.
It is not a digital signature under the Digital Signature Act 1997, which is a separate legal regime that Citrus Send does not operate under. The difference, and the documents for which an electronic signature may not be valid, are set out in the Terms.
How do I send a file?
- Choose how to send it. Pick a share link, which anyone you send it to can open, or email delivery, which sends the files to the addresses you provide. Email delivery requires an account.
- Add your files. Drag the files onto the card or click to browse. Any file type is accepted, up to the size allowed by your tier.
- Choose when the link expires. Choose a fixed number of days, a one-time link that stops working shortly after its first download, or no expiry. Expiry means deletion, not hiding.
- Create the link. Copy the link, scan the QR code, or send the files by email. When signed in, you can revoke a share later from your history.
Common questions
What is a live note?
A page at one address that updates for everyone looking at it within a second or two — a shared notepad with files attached. You can share the link at view or edit, or invite people by name so each gets their own way in. Creating one needs an account; reading one does not.
Do live notes expire?
Yes, and the clock restarts every time somebody edits one, so a note in use does not disappear from under you. Once it expires or you close it, the text and files are deleted about two days later.
Do I need an account to send files?
No. Anyone can send files using a download link. An account adds email delivery, larger uploads, links that never expire, and a history where you can manage and revoke your shares.
How long do my files stay available?
For as long as you choose when creating the share. When a share expires, the files are deleted rather than hidden. Once deleted, they cannot be recovered.
What is a one-time link?
A one-time link stops working shortly after its first download. This helps a file reach one person instead of remaining available to everyone the link is forwarded to.
Are electronic signatures legally recognised in Malaysia?
Signing with Citrus Send produces an electronic signature under the Electronic Commerce Act 2006. It is not a digital signature under the Digital Signature Act 1997, which is a separate legal regime.
What information is kept with a signature?
We keep a record of who was invited, when they opened the signing request, when they signed, and that they agreed to sign electronically. This information is bound into the signed copy as a certificate page and sealed so that later alteration can be detected.
Do you look inside my files?
No. We do not open, read, scan or index the files you upload. They are stored exactly as you sent them, used only to serve the share, and deleted when it expires.
